As you've probably already noted, my name is Vince Gelezunas and I reside just outside of St. Louis, Missouri.  I earned bachelor's degrees in Architecture, Art History, and Studio Art from Drury University in Springfield, Missouri.  I also have completed the full curriculum for Woodworking & Cabinetry at Ranken College in St. Louis.  Over the years I've explored art in many directions and through various media: drawing, painting, ceramics, photography, music, woodworking, stained glass, and more.

Art can be disquieting, disturbing, and unsettling.  Art can also be provocative, compelling, and captivating.  In more basic terms, art can be ugly or it can be beautiful.  The distinctions between these two perspectives are often slight; however, they can usually be differentiated by the artist's successful application of proportion, balance, and style.  My strong design background as both an Architect and an Artist imparts my work with a foundation based upon the understanding of these qualities.  The improvisational and spontaneous aspects of my art possess the practical theory and background from which to draw.
Both halves of the brain are engaged, a complete Sphere, if you will.

After browsing the various galleries on this web site, one will find work with both classic and contemporary aesthetics, but usually with a creative twist, something more than expected, traits to incite further exploration.  When I look at art, that is what intrigues me.  This is a quality I strive to achieve in my work.

If you want to hear a bit more about me, drop me an email and I'll be happy to chat with you.
